TSJI will convene a two-day workshop in our new TSJI space dedicated to accompanying organizers who are confronting the prison industrial complex. It will feature dialogues with organizers Rachel Herzing (former executive director, Center for Political Education), and Amelia Kirby (Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky), alongside scholars including Naomi Murakawa (Princeton University), Jack Norton (Governors State University), Judah Schept (Eastern Kentucky University), Jordan T. Camp (Trinity) and Christina Heatherton (Trinity).

The workshop extends previous collaborations like Christina’s interview with Judah Schept for Conjuncture S2 Ep5, (above), Jordan’s interview with Rachel Herzing, “How to Abolish Prisons” (Oct. 27, 2021), (below left) and with Jack Norton, “No One is Watching: Jail Expansion in Upstate NY,” (Nov. 3, 2021), (below middle and right), part of TSJI ‘s “Curating Conversations” series filmed at the Trinity Austin Arts Center.
