A manuscript workshop with Channon Miller (American Studies and History, Trinity)

In May 2024, TSJI hosted a workshop for Channon Miller’s manuscript (under contract, Columbia Univ. Press). It traces the history of Black women’s organizing in Hartford, CT, over the past five decades. She excavates stories about Black motherhood and Black diaspora from geographies often marginalized.

Participants included Fiona Vernal (History and Africana Studies; Director of Engaged, Public, Oral, and Community Histories (EPOCH) at the University of Connecticut), Natassja Gunasena (International Studies, Trinity), Seth Markle (International Studies and History, Trinity), Jordan T. Camp and Christina Heatherton.
