Christina Heatherton joined Barbara Smith (Combahee River Collective co-founder) and Armin Farris (UCSC) to celebrate the induction of Paul Ortiz as a Hess Scholar at the Ethyle R. Wolfe Institute, Brooklyn College. Heatherton discussed Ortiz’s work as a beloved people’s historian and oral historian, and his organizing work to resist attacks on higher education as the brave former head of the United Faculty of Florida Union.
